Finally, Microsoft has declared the official release date of Windows Phone 8.1 that is major update to its mobile operating system. As per the listing on the Windows Phone support website, Windows Phone 8.1 will possible launch on June 24.

Moreover, it is not confirmed that whether carriers will begin pushing their updates on the same day or not. A support lifecycle page of Microsoft has been updated with lots of new information that listed a lifecycle start date of June 24 and a concluding date of July 11, 2017.

Microsoft notes, “Microsoft will make updates available for the Operating System, including security updates, for a minimum of 36 months after the lifecycle start date.” “These updates will be incremental, with each update built on the update that preceded it.”
